Ellen lives and creates
pottery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ellen began making
“functional ceramics” about 12 years ago.
Ellen has studied with numerous widely recognized
ceramic artists, participated in many workshops, has exhibited in
various juried shows and has been the recipient of several
awards. She has explored many different clay bodies, techniques
and firing methods searching for her own voice. Her work over the
last few years has been inspired by objects of art of the late 19th
and early 20th centuries, silver and furniture among
them.
The collection presented here has pieces created
to enhance the ritual of daily life and recall a time when there
was an unhurried joy and celebration in the sharing of meals and
home life with family and friends. All pieces are food and
dishwasher safe.
